  1. Chopta Trek

Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary has a widely known hill station by the name of Chopta.

Did you know it is also known as the Mini Switzerland of India? The trek starts at Chopta and ends at Chandrashila mountain peak which is home to the highest Shiva temple in the world – Tungnath.

3. Lal Tibba Trek

We are not yet done with your trip in the March to June season. Another one of the trekking places in Uttarakhand that you can cherish is the Lal Tibba. It is the highest point in Mussoorie and is ultra famous for the remarkable view it lends.

With deodar forests, snow-laden mountains and a look at Bandarpoonch, Kedarnath and Badrinath, this trek is a gift to the eyes you cannot deny. Although a short trek of about 2 days, Lal Tibba can be challenging for even an experienced trekker.

4. Bali Pass Trek

One of the trekking places in Uttarakhand that takes you to Yamunotri, this is actually inside the Govind wildlife sanctuary. So, there is no doubt that the captivating place will welcome you with a dense variety of flora and fauna.

The challenging trek makes you go by rivers like Siyan Gad and Tons and ends at the beautiful lake of Ruinsara Tal. Why beautiful? Because not only it brings the beauty of water but also is home to Bunderpoonch peak, Swargarohini peak and Kalanag peak over it. You can begin this trek at Sankri in June, September, or mid-April and mid-November.

 

5. Pindari Glacier Trek

Being the ‘Soul of Kumaon’, the Pindari Glacier trek is bound to surprise you with gorgeous glaciers and lush green forests welcoming you. With a typically moderate difficulty level of trekking, this one between the Nandakot hills and the Nanda Devi is not for everyone.

You will have to be well prepared to conquer Bageshwar’s mighty mountains. So, make sure you visit the place at a comfortable season, which thankfully lasts long between April to November.

6. Nag Tibba Trek

A beginner-friendly trek among the most visited trekking places in Uttarakhand, Nag Tibba brings you the scintillating views of the Kedarnath peaks. Plus, that of the Bandarpunch peak and Gangotri as well.

The name of the place translates to the mountain of the serpent and very rightly so as the locals here worship the snake lord- Nag Devta.

If you plan to test your trekking skills and visit Nag Tibba, October to December may be the best time.

 

7. Har Ki Dun Trek

So this is one of the easy trekking places in Uttarakhand you must visit if you are just starting with your trekking adventures. Whether you can find some time for a vacation before monsoon or after, Har Ki Dun is a fit choice for trekking.

If you go after the monsoon you will get to witness the flora that can’t help but make your eyes smile. Also, while you are on this trek it blesses you with the amazing view of the Tons River Valley and the woodlands and highlands which surround it.

The 7 days on this trek will also allow you to cherish a variety of birds flying in springtime and snow-capped mountains in winters.

So, when should you visit? Anytime between May to October should be fine. But, if you are a beginner to trekking, make sure not to go in extreme monsoon months as it can be difficult to walk in that season.

8. Satopanth Lake Trek

A bit of a challenging trek, Satopanth will take you about 8 days to complete. This trek is sure to reward you with snow-laden mountains like Swargarohini, Satopanth, Balakun, and Chaukhamba on the way.

The highly magical triangle river present there is said to be the house of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Brahma in each of the corners. What’s better than getting to explore the scenic splendor of Uttarakhand while getting some godly blessings in the land of gods?

 

9. Rupin Pass Trek

This 8-day trek is going to make you climb over 10000 feet to Rupin Pass. Thankfully, there are many beautiful villages on the way for you to rest and cherish.

You will find waterfalls, pastures full of exotic flowers and mountain peaks having no match for their scenic splendour while you are on this trek.

It starts at Dhaula which is not fit for newbies.

 

10. Kedartal Trek

A two to three-day trek to what’s also known as the ‘Shiva’s lake’, Kedartal trek is quite rewarding. The trail brings you rugged terrains with lush green valleys, and beautiful blue water streams and falls.

Be ready to spot blue sheep, some diverse variety of birds, and the Himalayan black bear among the mesmerizing wildlife of the area.

 A 6 day long, Brahmatal trek begins at Lohajung. Full of scintillating scenes to explore and a beautiful paradise, the trek is a must for you. But, it is not great for first-timers. If you decide to hop on this adventure, January and February will be a good time.
